our story

Steven Furtick writes that in 1 Samuel 14 there is a record of an incredible statement.  The odds were stacked against Israel. The Philistines had 30,000 chariots, 6,000 horsemen and people as numerous as the sand and Israel only had a few hundred, most of which were in hiding.  In the face of overwhelming odds and possible annihilation Jonathan makes a request…“Let’s go to the outpost of those pagans.” Jonathan said to his armor bearer,  “Perhaps the Lord will help us, for nothing can hinder the Lord.  He can win a battle whether He has many warriors or only a few!”  What happened next is nothing short of miraculous.  Jonathan steps out on a perhaps moment and God used him to overwhelmingly defeat the Philistines.  It was a ridiculous, bold faith.  He bet the farm on the chance God may show up and we are still talking about the results of that step of faith 2000+ years later.

Maybe this is our perhaps moment.  Maybe God wants us to step out together with ridiculous faith and be a part of something that will outlive us.  Perhaps God is orchestrating this opportunity for such a time as this.  Perhaps God is waiting on us to take a step of faith and perhaps we will see something just as miraculous together.  Perhaps you will consider helping us impact Moore, Ok and beyond.  There is a place for you!

Our beginning. In 1917, God spoke this church's existence into the heart of Harry P. Lot. There has been some changes along the way, but the reason for it has not; that is to make God known to a hurting world.  The original building that was established by Pastor Lot was located at 2509 S. Oklahoma in what is known today as Capitol Hill area. In 1985, the church body relocated to our existing campus here 2928 Woodlawn Drive under the leadership of Pastor Robertson.

During our 100 years of existence, there has only been 6 pastors.  Harry P. Lot (founder) 1917 - 1948, Ed Deatherage 1948 - 1978,

Jim Robertson 1978 - 2016, Warren Kiper 2016, Jerry Kuhn 2017 - 2021, and Mark Green 2021 to present

In 2018, the church changed their name from Capitol Hill Full Gospel Church to The Hill. We honor our heritage by continuing to make God known to a hurting world. Our methods have changed but the message is still the same. We are committed to helping people know God, find freedom, discover purpose, and make a difference.

 Welcome home!!
